Heavy Locomotive Maintenance Officer

About the role

The Heavy Locomotive Maintenance Officer will lead maintenance teams responsible for the upkeep of diesel‑electric locomotives and ensure smooth coordination of the locomotive fleet. This position reports to senior management and works closely with operations and engineering departments.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise scheduled inspections, servicing and preventive maintenance on diesel‑electric locomotives.
• Plan and monitor diagnosis of mechanical system faults and oversee corrective actions.
• Ensure compliance with safety, maintenance procedures and operational requirements.
• Coordinate with operations and engineering teams to provide accurate maintenance reports.

Required profile

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering or an equivalent qualification.
• Minimum of 4 years of industrial experience in locomotive or heavy‑equipment maintenance.
• Strong leadership, planning and supervisory abilities.
• Good knowledge of railway maintenance procedures and workplace safety standards.
