House Father/Mother (Residential Supervisor)

About the role

The House Father/Mother will live on‑site at Datus International School and provide day‑to‑day supervision, discipline and pastoral care for boarding students. This role combines leadership, mentorship and practical household management to create a safe, orderly environment where young people can thrive.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain a calm, consistent and firm disciplinary approach to ensure respect and order.
• Oversee daily routines such as wake‑up times, meals, study periods, bedtime and weekend activities.
• Keep the boarding house clean, secure and well‑maintained at all times.
• Act as a positive role model, building trust and encouraging responsibility among students.
• Monitor student behaviour, address issues promptly and work with teaching staff on academic and pastoral matters.
• Manage conflicts fairly, escalating serious matters when necessary.
• Be available on‑site for emergencies and student‑welfare support, with scheduled leave provided.

Required profile

• Mature male candidate, minimum age 35.
• At least 36 months of experience in supervisory, disciplinary or pastoral roles (e.g., schools, armed forces, youth work).
• Strong leadership, high personal integrity and reliability.
• Patience, emotional resilience and excellent interpersonal and conflict‑resolution abilities.
• Ability to manage difficult or defiant behaviour with firmness and fairness.
• Willingness to reside on the premises and be available as required.
