Housekeeping Utility

About the role

The Housekeeping Utility ensures the highest standards of cleanliness and sanitation across public areas, crew spaces and officer cabins on board. Working under the Rooms Division Manager, you will contribute to guest and crew satisfaction while complying with company policies and public health regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain cleanliness of assigned public and crew areas, including vacuuming, dusting, polishing, high‑dusting, garbage removal and floor care.
• Clean officer cabins and bathrooms to the highest standard and provide turn‑down service.
• Perform laundry and valet services for officer cabins and manage towel delivery and collection.
• Carry out daily sanitation, record activities in the sanitation log and follow outbreak response procedures.
• Assist with requisition collection, distribution, and ensure correct delivery of supplies.
• Provide wheelchair assistance, luggage handling and support embarkation/disembarkation duties.
• Maintain proper storage and handling of cleaning chemicals and equipment, reporting any faults.
• Water plants, orchids and flower arrangements when assigned to florist duty.
• Participate in daily briefings, maintain communication with other departments and uphold privacy standards.

• Ability to work effectively in a team and follow written procedures.
• Discreet, courteous and respectful of crew and officer privacy.
• Willingness to attend briefings and respond to special side‑duty assignments.
• Physical stamina for handling cleaning equipment and moving luggage.

• Operation of cleaning equipment (vacuum cleaners, floor polishers, etc.).
• Proper handling and storage of cleaning chemicals.

• Basic plant care and watering techniques.
• Accurate record‑keeping for sanitation and inventory logs.
