About the role

The Houseman works within the Housekeeping & Laundry department of a luxury hotel, ensuring all public areas meet the brand’s high standards of cleanliness, reporting maintenance issues and assisting guests and staff as needed.

Key responsibilities

• Attend daily line‑up on time, well‑groomed and secure any assigned keys or beepers.
• Review and complete assignments from the daily sheet, coordinating with the supervisor for additional tasks.
• Remove trash and debris, stock cleaning carts, and clean designated areas using appropriate chemicals, tools and equipment.
• Maintain clear stairwells, fire exits and lift landings; polish brass surfaces to a high gloss.
• Empty and clean vacuum cleaners, stock vending machines in public and employee bathrooms.
• Assist the Laundry Attendant and follow the Laundry Pick‑up policy.
• Report any damages or maintenance problems to the supervisor and turn over lost‑and‑found items.
• Ensure housekeeping pantries are stocked with linen and help transport linen between guest rooms and pantries.

Required profile

• Vocational School Certificate preferred.
• Minimum 2 years experience in a similar housekeeping role, preferably in a hotel.
• Ability to communicate effectively in English with guests, management and service partners.
• Flexible scheduling and physical ability to handle heavy duties.

Required skills

• Proper handling of cleaning chemicals.
• Operation of standard housekeeping equipment (vacuum cleaners, polishing tools, etc.).
