Human Resources Officer

About the role

The Human Resources Officer will support the HR department in delivering an efficient and effective HR system that aligns with the company’s strategic objectives. This role is based at the AngloGold Ashanti mining site in Tarkwa, Ghana.

Key responsibilities

• Assist with reviewing and implementing HR policies, the company code of ethics, and collective agreements.
• Validate timesheets against the time‑and‑attendance system before payroll processing.
• Prepare monthly and annual HR reports for management.
• Develop and execute recruitment strategies, guide hiring managers on job descriptions, and facilitate onboarding.
• Support the administration of the annual performance management system.
• Maintain the HR database, ensuring accurate and up‑to‑date information.
• Monitor labour‑relation issues, including employee engagement, grievance handling, and union negotiations.

Required profile

• Degree in Business Administration, Human Resource Management or related field.
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a similar HR role.
• Working knowledge of Ghana Labour Act (Act 651).
• Strong organisational skills and initiative.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
• Experience with SAP HCM or similar HR/Payroll software.
• Familiarity with HRIS platforms.
