Hygiene Coordinator – Local Hire

About the role

The Hygiene Coordinator will support the Hygiene, Health, Safety and Sustainability Manager and the Executive Chef in overseeing the hotel’s hygiene programme. The role ensures compliance with local and international food safety standards, contributing to guest satisfaction and operational efficiency.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure all Food & Beverage/Kitchen staff have adequate knowledge of food safety.
• Organise and record food safety meetings and trainings.
• Follow up on training implementation and develop food safety committees.
• Conduct daily routine checks in liaison with the Stewarding Manager across all F&B areas.
• Monitor freezers, fridges, pastry counters, buffets and displays for compliance.
• Prepare monthly and weekly operational hygiene reports and action plans.
• Develop on‑the‑job and classroom trainings for kitchen, service and stewarding staff.
• Attend site visits for external catering and governmental inspections, fostering positive relationships.
• Source and regularly evaluate suppliers for hygiene standards.
• Implement pest‑control programmes and coordinate with third‑party hygiene consultants.
• Collect food samples from events for future reference.

Required profile

• BA/BSc in Food Production, Food Safety, Agriculture or related field.
• Certification in food safety/HACCP or equivalent.
• 2–5 years of practical experience in infection control, WASH (Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene) or related areas.

• Strong knowledge of HACCP principles.

• Familiarity with CDC and OSHA health regulations.
