About the role

The Infield Mentor supports missionaries in their core purpose of inviting others to Christ by delivering the restored gospel. This entry‑level individual contributor works alongside teachers to train missionaries in language skills, gospel doctrine, and missionary techniques across various settings.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver instruction through one‑on‑one coaching, small‑group facilitation, large workshops, and online Canvas monitoring.
• Plan and prepare lessons following the approved curriculum, coordinating with a companion teacher when needed.
• Guide missionaries in setting learning goals, tracking progress, and applying feedback from senior training leaders.
• Participate in weekly training meetings, co‑teacher sessions, and assist area leadership with mission coordination.
• Support assessment of language proficiency for missionaries and teacher applicants.
• Occasionally role‑play as a non‑member or act as a Training Area Assistant as hours allow.

Required profile

• Returned missionary status.
• Fluency in the required second language for language‑teaching positions.
• Strong coaching, facilitation, and interpersonal skills.
• Self‑motivated, professional, and receptive to feedback.
• Ability to communicate effectively in English and the second language (or non‑verbal communication for ASL).

Required skills

• Knowledge of the "Preach My Gospel" curriculum.
• Understanding of effective language‑learning strategies (for language‑teaching roles).
