Investigations and Law Enforcement Development Programs Associate

About the role

International Justice Mission (IJM) Ghana is seeking an Investigations and Law Enforcement Development (ILED) Programs Associate to strengthen partnerships with government agencies, support law‑enforcement officers, and help combat human trafficking across Ghana. The role involves frequent travel to project regions and reports to the Justice System Program Manager.

Key responsibilities

• Network with and build partnerships with key government officials in line with IJM’s strategic objectives.
• Develop a thorough understanding of human‑trafficking modus operandi and relevant Ghanaian laws and criminal procedures.
• Maintain strict confidentiality of case information and sensitive data.
• Write and submit detailed, timely reports on activities and case progress.
• Complete finance training, create requisitions, process expense reports, and ensure timely submission.
• Enter field data, training events, and meeting details into IJM’s internal system (JDS).
• Assist authorities in documenting, gathering, and preserving evidence.
• Provide technical consultation to government officials handling trafficking cases.
• Support development and delivery of training curricula for law‑enforcement officers.
• Monitor and evaluate collaborative strategies with government partners and ensure compliance with IJM and donor requirements.

Required profile

• Willingness and ability to travel frequently across Ghana.
• Strong knowledge of human‑trafficking patterns and related legal frameworks.
• Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
• Experience preparing clear, accurate reports and documentation.
• Capacity to work collaboratively with police, social welfare departments, and state attorneys.
