IP Network & Services Planning Specialist

About the role

The IP Network & Services Planning Specialist is responsible for end‑to‑end design, architecture, capacity planning and optimisation of the IP/MPLS backbone, transport and access networks, security gateways and related IP services. The role ensures designs follow industry standards, are secure, reliable and scalable to support enterprise and mobile network growth.

Key responsibilities

• Serve as escalation point for fault resolution and problem solving by operational staff.
• Define and implement solutions aligned with best practice and future strategy.
• Ensure internal and external suppliers, partners and customers adhere to best practice.
• Review work of Solutions Delivery and Operations teams for compliance with standards.
• Recommend and drive continuous‑improvement actions.
• Design and implement scalable IP/MPLS, BGP, OSPF and IS‑IS architectures for mobile core, enterprise and broadband services.
• Conduct network capacity forecasting and expansion planning across core, aggregation and edge layers.
• Plan and document IP addressing schemes, routing policies and QoS configurations.
• Ensure designs meet security, reliability and redundancy standards.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Telecommunications or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years experience in IP network planning, design or operations within a telecom or ISP environment.
• Strong knowledge of routing and switching technologies (BGP, OSPF, MPLS, QoS, Multicast, IPv6, IS‑IS).
• Hands‑on experience with routers/switches from Huawei, Nokia, Cisco or Juniper.
• Understanding of IP service provisioning platforms such as BRAS, CGNAT, DHCP, DNS and AAA.
• Familiarity with SDN/NFV, network automation (Python, Ansible) and cloud networking is an advantage.
• Excellent interpersonal and teamwork skills.
