IT Manager – IT Services And Academic Support

About the role

We are a newly established University of Environment and Sustainable Development seeking an experienced IT Manager to lead IT services and academic support. The role will shape the university’s technology strategy, ensuring robust, innovative solutions for teaching, learning and administration.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee technical projects aligned with organisational goals, including network delivery, development and disaster recovery systems.
• Provide vision and leadership for IT initiatives that enhance teaching, learning and research.
• Plan and implement administrative and academic information systems to improve cost‑effectiveness and business development.
• Advise senior management on all IT‑related matters and ensure value for money and return on investment.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in information technology, information systems, computer science or related field (graduate degree a plus).
• Minimum eight years’ experience in IT operations, telecommunications, databases and storage systems.
• Strong interpersonal, communication and leadership skills with ability to manage and prioritize tasks and projects.
• At least ten years’ experience overseeing IT teams and projects.
• Excellent analytical and problem‑solving abilities; team‑oriented.
