Lead Architect – Design & Technical Services

About the role

Stone Depot Ghana is seeking a Lead Architect – Design & Technical Services to head the end‑to‑end design and technical delivery of stone solutions for residential and commercial projects in Accra. The role bridges concept development, detailed design, and on‑site installation, ensuring solutions meet client requirements, budgets and timelines.

Key responsibilities

• Lead architectural design reviews and develop concept to construction‑ready drawings for stone applications.
• Prepare technical drawings, specifications and shop drawings that align with fabrication capabilities.
• Coordinate with sales, fabrication and installation teams to validate feasibility and resolve technical issues.
• Define and maintain design standards, templates and best‑practice detailing for stone surfaces.
• Support client presentations with technical expertise and act as a mentor for junior designers.
• Ensure compliance with relevant building codes, construction methods and health‑and‑safety requirements.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Architecture, Architectural Technology, Civil Engineering or related field.
• Proven experience leading design and technical delivery on building or interior projects, preferably involving stone or high‑end finishes.
• Strong background in solution architecture and integration across design, fabrication and installation.
• Experience with enterprise‑level design frameworks or systems thinking.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with ability to present technical concepts to non‑technical audiences.

Required skills

• Proficiency with CAD/BIM and other architectural design software.
• Ability to produce and interpret architectural drawings, shop drawings and fabrication details.
• Technical documentation and specification writing.
• Solution architecture and integration skills.
• Knowledge of building codes and health‑and‑safety considerations.
