Lecturer – Vocational and Technical Education

About the role

The University of Cape Coast invites applications for a full‑time Lecturer position in the Department of Vocational and Technical Education. The successful candidate will join the Faculty of Science and Technology Education and contribute to teaching, research and supervision across a range of engineering and applied science programmes.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver undergraduate and graduate courses in one or more of the listed specialisations.
• Supervise undergraduate research projects and theses.
• Develop and lead research initiatives aligned with departmental priorities.
• Participate in curriculum development, departmental meetings and academic committees.
• Engage in community and industry collaborations to enhance learning outcomes.

Required profile

• PhD in Wood Technology, Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics Engineering, Family Ecology and Management, Food and Nutrition or a closely related field.
• Minimum two years experience as an Assistant Lecturer in a recognised institution.
• Strong research record and professional experience in the relevant discipline.
• Demonstrated ability to supervise undergraduate research.
• Maximum age of 50 years and commitment to equity, diversity and inclusion.

Required skills

• Advanced knowledge in the chosen engineering or applied science discipline.
• Effective teaching and curriculum design skills.
• Research methodology and scholarly publication experience.
