About the role
The West Africa Examinations Council is seeking a qualified Legal Officer to join its Ghana National Office. Reporting to the Head of the Legal Unit, the successful candidate will support the Council’s legal functions and contribute to its mission across West African countries.
Key responsibilities
- Draft, review and negotiate contracts and other legal documents.
- Conduct legal research on relevant issues.
- Represent the Council in court proceedings and before quasi‑judicial bodies.
- Serve as a member of staff investigation committees.
- Provide legal support to the Head of the Legal Unit and other departments.
- Undertake any additional duties assigned by senior management.
Required profile
- University degree in law and professional qualification as a practicing advocate of the High Court of Ghana.
- Minimum three years of relevant legal experience.
- High integrity, confidentiality and reliability.
- Demonstrable leadership ability and strong interpersonal skills.
