Legal, Risk & Compliance Manager

About the role

The Legal, Risk & Compliance Manager will serve as a strategic partner to senior management, providing day‑to‑day legal advice, overseeing regulatory compliance, and managing enterprise risk across the organisation. The role involves close interaction with business units, external counsel, and regulatory authorities to ensure that all commercial activities are legally sound and compliant with Ghanaian law.

Key responsibilities

• Provide legal advisory on commercial agreements, partnership contracts, vendor arrangements and employment matters, and manage relationships with external counsel.
• Develop and maintain a regulatory compliance framework, monitor Bank of Ghana requirements, and coordinate regulatory reporting and inspections.
• Oversee AML/CFT and KYC programmes, conduct risk assessments, and manage suspicious activity reporting and training.
• Establish and operate an enterprise risk management system covering regulatory, legal, operational, financial, fraud, cybersecurity, data privacy and third‑party risks.
• Ensure data protection and privacy compliance with Ghanaian law, support privacy impact assessments and manage data breach responses.
• Advise on consumer protection, product launches, marketing communications and new business models to mitigate legal and regulatory risks.
• Lead fraud and financial crime risk programmes, conduct investigations and implement prevention controls.
• Conduct due diligence on third‑party vendors, maintain risk registers and support business continuity planning.
