Logistics Specialist

About the role

The Logistics Specialist will play a key role in ensuring the efficient movement of goods and materials by sourcing, evaluating, and managing vehicle suppliers in Kumasi. The role supports the transportation and purchasing departments by optimizing logistics operations, reducing costs, and ensuring reliable supply chain processes for the manufacturing business.

Key responsibilities

• Identify, evaluate, and establish relationships with reliable vehicle suppliers in Kumasi.
• Negotiate contracts, pricing, and service agreements with transport vendors.
• Coordinate the timely transportation of raw materials and finished goods.
• Monitor supplier performance to ensure compliance with delivery schedules, quality, and safety standards.
• Track and analyze transportation costs, proposing cost‑saving initiatives.
• Assist in vehicle procurement and leasing arrangements as per departmental needs.
• Verify invoices, delivery notes, and related supplier documentation before processing payments.
• Develop and maintain logistics reports, including supplier evaluations and cost analyses.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Purchasing, Business Administration, or related field.
• 1–3 years’ experience in logistics, purchasing, or supply chain (preferably in manufacturing).
• Proven experience in supplier sourcing and vendor management.
• Strong negotiation, communication, and analytical abilities.
• Knowledge of transportation operations and supplier networks in Kumasi.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast‑paced environment.
