Maintenance Manager + Special Projects

About the role

Legendary Foods Ltd is seeking a senior Maintenance Manager to lead plant maintenance operations and drive special projects, including the Congo pilot. The role combines day‑to‑day equipment upkeep with strategic initiatives to support growth.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement preventive and corrective maintenance schedules for all equipment and machinery.
• Ensure timely repair of breakdowns to minimise production downtime.
• Maintain accurate maintenance logs, records and reports.
• Coordinate installation, commissioning and upgrades of machinery.
• Monitor equipment performance and apply reliability‑centered maintenance practices.
• Lead, train and evaluate a high‑performing maintenance team, establishing clear roles and accountability.
• Enforce occupational health, safety, food safety and hygiene standards (FSSC, HACCP).
• Control repair, spare‑parts and external service costs while optimising inventory levels.
• Support the Congo pilot project – equipment coordination, setup, operational planning and problem‑solving.
• Assist procurement, negotiate with suppliers and track orders for projects.
• Build operational and financial models for production cost, scaling and new facility planning.

Required profile

• Senior‑level professional with at least 8 years of maintenance experience in manufacturing or food processing.
• Proven ability to lead and develop maintenance teams.
• Strong knowledge of occupational health and safety, food safety (FSSC, HACCP) and compliance requirements.
• Experience managing budgets, cost control and inventory for spare parts.
• Track record of delivering special projects or pilot implementations.
