Manager, Short Term Planning and Scheduling

About the role

Lead the development and implementation of mine scheduling processes across short‑ to medium‑term horizons, ensuring schedules support operational priorities and planning requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Mentor and guide Scheduling Engineers and junior team members.
• Implement and apply scheduling standards, procedures, and compliance expectations.
• Continuously improve scheduling systems, tools, and processes.
• Coordinate with operational and technical teams to develop integrated schedules.
• Develop and maintain short‑term and rolling 12‑week schedules aligned with execution readiness.
• Validate schedule assumptions, activity durations, constraints and sequencing logic.
• Monitor schedule performance, compliance and variance, providing analysis and commentary.
• Prepare and present integrated schedules and reports for planning forums.

Required profile

• Degree in Mining Engineering or related discipline.
• Minimum eight years’ experience in underground mine scheduling, with at least five years in a senior supervisory role.
• Solid understanding of underground mining methods and operational practices.
• Experience coordinating planning inputs from multiple technical disciplines.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Deswik or equivalent mine planning software.
• Expertise in underground mine scheduling processes.
