Managing Director - West Africa

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Managing Director to launch and lead our West African operations. As the inaugural in‑country leader, you will shape the regional growth strategy, build a high‑performing team, and drive sustainable commercial results across the mining and heavy‑industrial market.

Key responsibilities

• Assume full P&L responsibility for the West Africa region, delivering revenue growth, profitability and cash‑flow targets.
• Develop and execute market entry and expansion plans in Ghana and across West Africa.
• Establish legal, operational and commercial footprints, securing long‑term customer partnerships.
• Lead the creation of a high‑performing organisation, fostering capability, culture and people development.
• Strengthen customer relationships, expand aftermarket support and increase installed‑base penetration.

Required profile

• Engineering degree (MBA or postgraduate business qualification is a plus).
• Minimum 15 years of senior leadership experience in mining, heavy engineering, industrial services or EPCM.
• Proven track record of full commercial and operational accountability.
• Deep understanding of mining operations, equipment lifecycle support and market dynamics.
• Demonstrated success operating in West African or other emerging markets.
• Experience in multicultural and matrix organisations.
