Material Handling Supervisor

About the role

AngloGold Ashanti (Ghana) Limited is redeveloping the Obuasi Gold Mine into a fully mechanised, high‑efficiency operation. We are looking for an experienced, self‑motivated Material Handling Supervisor to lead the maintenance team responsible for conveyors and material‑handling systems.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate, train and monitor maintenance technicians on conveyors and material‑handling equipment.
• Implement and enforce the Safety Management Plan for all activities under your control.
• Conduct inspections, audits, JHAs and ensure compliance with HSE regulations and company standards.
• Investigate injuries, incidents and process interruptions, developing corrective actions.
• Monitor environmental compliance, energy usage and support Cyanide Code certification.
• Provide technical input to Mine Services, Safety, Refurbishment, Planning and Construction managers.

Required profile

• Proven experience supervising maintenance teams in a mining or heavy‑industry environment.
• Strong safety focus with ability to lead by example and drive continuous improvement.
• Knowledge of Ghanaian mining regulations, environmental management plans and HSE standards.
• Self‑motivated, able to work independently and make data‑driven decisions.
