Material Handling Supervisor

About the role

The Material Handling Supervisor will lead a team of maintenance technicians responsible for the safe and efficient operation of conveyors and material handling systems at the Obuasi Gold Mine. This role ensures plant availability while adhering to safety, environmental and engineering standards.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate daily work, training and performance monitoring of maintenance technicians on conveyor and material handling equipment.
• Implement and enforce the Safety Management Plan, conduct inspections, audits and investigations of incidents.
• Monitor compliance with Ghanaian regulatory approvals and the site Environmental Management Plan.
• Analyse process interruptions, apply improvement tools and drive energy‑efficiency initiatives.
• Support the Processing Department in maintaining Cyanide Code certification.

Required profile

• Proven experience supervising maintenance teams in a mining or heavy‑industry environment.
• Strong understanding of HSE regulations and safety‑first culture.
• Ability to lead by example, communicate effectively and drive continuous improvement.
