Materials Planner

About the role

AngloGold Ashanti is redeveloping the Obuasi Gold Mine into a modern, fully mechanised operation. We are looking for an experienced, self‑motivated Materials Planner to support daily, weekly and monthly materials planning activities and ensure the mine has the right spares and consumables at the right time.

Key responsibilities

• Execute established materials planning routines, including cataloguing new items, materials engineering and stock replenishment.
• Maintain high‑quality SAP Materials Master data and ensure compliance with governance procedures.
• Coordinate workflow between Materials Planning, Purchasing, Warehouse, Planned Maintenance, Engineering and Operations.
• Advise end‑users on substitute materials, superseded specifications and creation of new stock codes.
• Collect, analyse and interpret SAP stock reports to provide recommendations and monitor PR‑PO cycle times.
• Collaborate cross‑departmentally to support Operations Readiness and overall mine performance.

Required profile

• Proven experience in materials planning or inventory management, preferably in a mining or industrial environment.
• Strong ability to build relationships with Operations, Maintenance, Purchasing and Finance teams.
• Commitment to follow established processes, standards and KPIs.
• Willingness to pursue personal development and training in SAP and materials planning best practices.
