Mine Maintenance Service Person

About the role

Newmont is seeking a Mine Maintenance Service Person to provide semi‑skilled assistance on the Ahafo South mine site in Ghana. The role involves daily servicing, lubrication, fuel distribution and inspection of heavy mining and auxiliary equipment to maintain high equipment health standards.

Key responsibilities

• Perform daily servicing of heavy mining equipment using Caterpillar, MAN, Iveco and Toyota service trucks.
• Assist with oil checks, oil changes, transmission fluid replacement and greasing of all required points.
• Operate forklifts, telehandlers and other lifting devices to safely move oils, lubes and fuel.
• Maintain accurate daily records of fuel, lubricants and service activities and report equipment status to dispatchers and supervisors.
• Distribute fuel to mining equipment according to schedule and ensure service trucks are refilled and clean before shift end.
• Inspect service trucks for defects, request replenishment of consumables and adhere to contamination‑control standards.

Required profile

• Senior High School Certificate or Mechanical Technician qualification.
• Minimum 1 year of mechanical or electrical maintenance experience, preferably in a mining or industrial environment.
• Valid Ghanaian Driver’s License Class E.

Required skills

• Operation of Caterpillar service trucks (777B, 740B) and other heavy‑equipment service vehicles.
• Forklift and telehandler operation.
• Oil change, fluid replacement and greasing of equipment.
• Fuel distribution and handling on a mining site.
