Monitoring and Evaluation Officer

About the role

UNICEF Ghana is seeking a Monitoring and Evaluation Officer to lead the design, implementation and reporting of M&E activities that support the organization’s mission to improve children’s lives. The role will work closely with country office staff, national partners and the regional team to ensure data‑driven decision‑making.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain an Integrated Monitoring, Evaluation & Research Plan (IMEP) that aligns with strategic priorities.
• Conduct timely monitoring of programme outcomes, coordinate data collection and analyse results from surveys such as DHS and national household surveys.
• Design, implement and oversee evaluations, ensuring high‑quality processes and actionable recommendations.
• Strengthen the M&E capacity of UNICEF staff and national partners through training and technical support.
• Facilitate effective communication and partnership with the UN Country Team, national stakeholders and international donors, sharing findings to inform policy and programme adjustments.

Required profile

• Committed professional with a passion for children’s rights and development.
• Proven experience in data collection, statistical analysis and M&E within development or humanitarian contexts.
• Strong ability to prepare reports, present findings and work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders.
