National Consultant – Sanitation Data System Accuracy (Remote)

About the role
UNICEF is seeking a National Consultant to improve the statistical accuracy and relevance of outputs from Ghana's Basic Sanitation Information System (BaSIS). The consultant will work remotely, collaborating with the Ghana Statistical Service and UNICEF staff to strengthen data definitions, literacy, and quality for WASH monitoring.
Key responsibilities
- Review and refine data definitions and collection protocols used in BaSIS.
- Conduct data quality assessments and recommend corrective actions.
- Provide technical guidance to field facilitators on data literacy and accurate reporting.
- Develop and deliver training materials on statistical methods and data management.
- Produce analytical reports that inform policy and program decisions on sanitation and open defecation.
Required profile
- Advanced degree in Statistics, Public Health, Economics, or a related field.
- Proven experience working with national health or sanitation information systems.
- Demonstrated ability to work with government agencies and international partners.
- Strong communication skills in English; knowledge of local languages is an asset.
