Payroll & HR Specialist

About the role

We are seeking a Payroll & HR Specialist to manage the monthly payroll for a large workforce in Takoradi and the Western Region of Ghana. The role ensures accurate, timely salary payments while supporting broader HR functions and employee inquiries.

Key responsibilities

• Process monthly payroll for thousands of employees, calculating wages based on attendance, overtime, shift allowances, bonuses, and leave.
• Maintain accurate payroll records and employee data in the HR system.
• Reconcile payroll data, resolve discrepancies, and ensure compliance with statutory deductions such as PAYE, SSNIT, Tier 2 and Tier 3 pension contributions.
• Prepare payroll reports and assist with labor cost analysis and budgeting.
• Respond to employee queries regarding payroll, taxation, and statutory benefits.
• Perform additional payroll and HR‑related duties as assigned.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Accounting, Finance, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related field.
• At least one year of payroll management experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment or with a large workforce.
• Familiarity with shift‑based and piece‑rate payroll is an advantage.
• Knowledge of Ghana Labour Law and statutory payroll requirements (PAYE, SSNIT, Tier 2, Tier 3).

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel for payroll data analysis.
