Planning Officer – Manufacturing Operations

About the role

The Planning Officer will support Nexans Kabelmetal Ghana’s manufacturing operations by managing work‑in‑process (WIP) inventory, maintaining accurate production data, and ensuring smooth hand‑over of finished goods to the store. This position is critical for sustaining productivity and meeting operational targets.

Key responsibilities

• Manage WIP inventory and conduct regular stock‑taking.
• Update production data in the ERP system.
• Transfer finished goods from production to the finished‑goods store.
• Coordinate data for SQDCE meetings.
• Create and maintain production master data, including items, BOMs, and routings.
• Assist with weekly production planning when the supervisor is unavailable.

Required profile

• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Team management and interpersonal abilities.
• Problem‑solving capability.
• Customer‑service orientation.
• Degree in supply‑chain management or an equivalent qualification.
• Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience.

Required skills

• Functional knowledge of the Manufacturing module in an Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system.
• Inventory management expertise.
• Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
