Program Officer (STRIDES Ghana)

About the role

The Strengthening Infectious Disease Detection Systems (STRIDES) Ghana program is seeking a Program Officer to support project implementation. Reporting to the STRIDES Ghana Project Director, the officer will provide administrative and program‑management assistance to keep activities on schedule and within budget.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the project management team with meeting planning, conference‑room setup, travel arrangements and sub‑task assignments.
• Collect, compile and analyse metrics and data from subcontractors and partners for reporting purposes.
• Maintain distribution lists, project calendars, electronic and physical files, and ensure internal project websites are up‑to‑date.
• Facilitate communication with partners, send reminders for reporting deadlines and technical deliverables.
• Prepare presentations, write and review quarterly reports, and support donor deliverables.
• Support financial tracking by coordinating budgets, monitoring performance against Financial Cost Objectives, and liaising with finance, contracts and other internal units.
• Perform other administrative and special project duties as assigned.

Required profile

• Basic knowledge of project design concepts, practices and procedures.
• Strong oral and written communication abilities.
• Excellent organizational skills with high attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.
• Problem‑solving mindset and capacity to recommend corrective actions.
• Professional and articulate demeanor when interacting with clients and staff.

Required skills

• Proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
