Project Manager – Ghana (Field Support Services)

About the role

The Project Manager will lead the Field Support Services Project in Ghana, ensuring the effective planning, implementation, monitoring and reporting of Canada’s international assistance programmes. Based in Accra, the role works closely with the Canadian Project Director and DFATD to deliver results aligned with Ghana’s development priorities.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and manage detailed project plans, define deliverables and set key milestones in collaboration with DFATD.
• Monitor project progress, maintain risk and issue registers, and implement risk‑mitigation strategies, escalating issues as needed.
• Coordinate technical requests, short‑term assistance, research and analysis to support program design, feasibility studies and implementation.
• Ensure timely delivery of activities, operational effectiveness and compliance with donor reporting requirements.
• Provide regular updates and reports to the Canadian Project Director and DFATD.

Required profile

• Based in Accra, Ghana and able to work on‑site.
• Fluent in English (reading, writing, speaking); additional languages are a plus.
• Demonstrated experience in managing development or assistance projects, including risk and results management.
• Strong ability to collaborate with government agencies, donors and technical partners.
