Python Backend Engineer – AI Agent Training & Evaluation

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Python backend engineer to build and maintain integrations that emulate popular SaaS tools and to create realistic training and evaluation tasks for AI agents. The role is contract‑based, remote, and involves collaborating with a distributed team to deliver high‑quality connectors and task rubrics.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement Python backend services that replicate functionalities of tools such as Slack, Jira, Notion, Gmail, and wikis.
• Develop, extend, and test SaaS connectors ensuring faithful behavior and reliability.
• Mine data and workflows to define long‑horizon tasks for AI agents.
• Author task specifications, validate their realism, and write clear evaluation rubrics.
• Utilize AI coding assistants throughout development, testing, QA, and validation.
• Participate in onboarding, calibration, and quality‑review cycles.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years of backend software‑engineering experience.
• Strong proficiency in Python with experience in FastAPI, Flask or Django.
• Hands‑on experience with Git, Docker, REST APIs, microservices, and automated testing.
• Regular use of AI coding assistants (e.g., Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, GitHub Copilot).
• Excellent English communication and ability to work independently in a remote team.
