Quality Assurance Manager

About the role

The Quality Assurance Manager will lead the QA function for Ecobank Group, ensuring that all products and services meet the highest standards of reliability, usability and regulatory compliance. This senior role combines strategic planning, hands‑on testing leadership and cross‑functional collaboration to embed quality throughout the software development lifecycle.

Key responsibilities

• Establish and continuously improve formal QA processes aligned with industry best practices such as ISTQB and ISO/IEC 25010.
• Guide early‑stage testing practices, integrating test‑driven development (TDD) and behaviour‑driven development (BDD) into Agile and DevOps workflows.
• Collaborate with developers, product managers and operations teams to embed QA activities into daily development cycles.
• Lead, mentor and coach the QA team, fostering a culture of quality, innovation and continuous improvement.
• Monitor emerging QA trends (AI‑powered testing, CI/CD, DevOps) and incorporate relevant tools and methodologies.
• Oversee compliance with internal policies and external regulatory requirements.
• Act as the primary liaison for QA during product releases, providing expert guidance and resolving QA‑related queries.

Required profile

• Proven leadership experience in a QA or testing environment.
• Strong understanding of modern software development practices, including Agile, DevOps and continuous delivery.
• Excellent analytical and risk‑mitigation skills.
• Ability to communicate effectively with technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
• Commitment to staying current with QA methodologies and tools.

Required skills

• ISTQB certification or equivalent knowledge.
• Familiarity with ISO/IEC 25010 quality standards.
• Experience with Test‑Driven Development (TDD) and Behaviour‑Driven Development (BDD).
• Proficiency in Agile, DevOps and CI/CD pipelines.
• Knowledge of AI‑powered testing approaches.
