Recovery and Verification Officer

About the role

The Recovery and Verification Officer will work on‑site in the Greater Accra Region, handling overdue loan accounts and ensuring new and existing customers meet creditworthiness standards. This full‑time position combines field collection, client verification, and collaboration with internal teams to support the company’s micro‑credit portfolio.

Key responsibilities

• Contact clients via phone and field visits to follow up on overdue accounts.
• Negotiate realistic repayment plans in line with company policies.
• Conduct background checks, validate documents, and confirm business or workplace details for new and existing customers.
• Update the loan management system, maintain accurate communication records, and prepare regular recovery reports.
• Escalate complex cases to senior management when necessary.
• Collaborate with customer service and finance teams to resolve disputes and improve recovery processes.

Required profile

• Strong interpersonal and customer service skills to engage clients professionally.
• Experience in debt collection or micro‑finance environments, with knowledge of ethical recovery practices.
• Analytical ability to assess repayment capacity and interpret loan data.
• Excellent written and verbal communication, attention to detail, and accurate documentation.
• Comfort working in the field across Greater Accra and familiarity with local business environments.
• Ability to work under pressure, meet targets, and manage time independently and within a team.
• Minimum diploma or degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field; motor vehicle licence required.
