Recruitment Officer

About the role

The Recruitment Officer will support the Administration and Human Resources Management Division of the African Union in delivering effective recruitment and onboarding processes. Working closely with senior HR staff, the officer will ensure compliance with AU policies and contribute to the division’s strategic objectives.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in the implementation of HR programs, policies, and procedures within the division.
• Draft and update Standard Operating Procedures, policies, guidelines, and tools for short‑listing, interviewing, and selecting staff.
• Develop and monitor the yearly recruitment plan, ensuring alignment with AU recruitment regulations.
• Prepare job postings in consultation with hiring managers, publish vacancies on the AU website and social media platforms, and track applications.
• Coordinate short‑listing and interview activities using Success Factor, support panel members and candidates, and manage contract creation in SAP.
• Generate accurate HR reports, support stakeholder engagement, and promote division activities through leaflets and fact sheets.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources Management, Business Administration, Management, Public Administration, Marketing or a related field.

Required skills

• Proficiency with the Success Factor recruitment platform.
• Experience using SAP for contract and HR data management.
