Regional Human Resource Officer

About the role

The Regional Human Resource Officer will lead HR operations for the West and Francophone Africa (WAFA) region, reporting to the Regional Director in Accra and collaborating with the HR Manager in Toronto. This role supports the mission of Right To Play by ensuring HR practices align with organisational values and local regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee day‑to‑day HR functions across the WAFA region, including recruitment, onboarding, performance management and employee relations.
• Develop and implement HR policies that comply with Ghanaian labour law and regional employment standards.
• Partner with Country Managers and HR Focus Persons to deliver competency‑based HR solutions.
• Manage payroll processes and administer the regional HR information system (HRIS).
• Provide guidance on health, safety and human‑rights legislation relevant to the region.

Required profile

• Ghanaian national fluent in written and spoken English and French.
• Master’s degree in Human Resources, Personnel Management or a related field.
• 4–7 years of HR management experience in the non‑profit sector, with a focus on West and Francophone Africa.
• Strong interpersonal, communication and negotiation skills.

Required skills

• Proficiency with MS Office applications.
• Experience managing payroll and HRIS administration.
