Remote Maths Expert – Short‑Term Contract

About the role

We are looking for a highly qualified mathematics specialist to work remotely on a short‑term contract. You will design and solve challenging mathematical problems that are used to evaluate large language models (LLMs). The position starts immediately and lasts for 11 weeks.

Key responsibilities

• Design and solve advanced mathematics problems for LLM evaluation.
• Create clear, step‑by‑step solutions with detailed reasoning.
• Collaborate with LLM researchers to develop new evaluation benchmarks ranging from undergraduate to PhD‑level mathematics.
• Analyze complex mathematical tasks using logical and structured approaches.
• Explain mathematical concepts using simple language, visuals, and examples.

Required profile

• Master’s, Ph.D., or currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Mathematics, Applied Mathematics, Statistics, or a related field.
• Strong research, analytical, and creative thinking abilities.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills in a remote environment.

Required skills

• Proficiency in at least three of the following tools: Magma, Macaulay2, Singular, GAP, SageMath, Polymake, 4ti2, LattE, DIPHA, PHAT, AUTO-07P, XPPAUT, Perseus, Stan, PyMC, OR‑Tools, Z3, PARI/GP, fpLLL.
