Safety, Health and Environment Officer

About the role

Join Nestlé Ghana’s Tema factory as a Safety, Health and Environment (SHE) Officer, responsible for maintaining a zero‑accident workplace and minimizing environmental impacts through robust SHE management.

Key responsibilities

• Implement SHE operational controls and checklists to ensure safe factory operations.
• Coach and support factory employees and external service providers on SHE practices.
• Deliver training, sensitisation and onboarding for new staff and contractors.
• Maintain and improve the SHE Management System, supporting ISO certification compliance.
• Assist SHE SPOC and representatives in achieving SHE objectives and promote SHE awareness.
• Manage SHE performance data and ensure accurate reporting.
• Lead risk‑assessment programmes, incident investigations, corrective actions, audits and behaviour‑based safety initiatives.
• Oversee waste‑management processes and ensure compliance with current regulations.
• Conduct environmental impact studies and champion continuous improvement.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemical, Mechanical or Environmental Engineering, or Health & Safety.
• 2‑3 years of experience in a similar SHE role, preferably within the food industry.
• Strong ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
• Excellent planning, organisational and technical knowledge.
