Security Co-ordinator (Hospital)

About the role

The Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital is seeking a Security Co‑ordinator to lead its security unit. The role involves overseeing daily security operations, ensuring staff are trained, and maintaining a safe environment for patients, staff and visitors.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, organise, direct and control security personnel and activities.
• Train and certify security guards and watchmen, ensuring competence at all posts.
• Conduct regular inspections and audits of all security locations.
• Ensure compliance with hospital security procedures, standing orders and Ministry of Health policies.
• Develop and monitor the unit’s annual plans, budgets and performance appraisals.
• Investigate incidents such as theft, pilferage, assaults and prepare detailed reports with recommendations.
• Educate hospital staff on security matters and submit routine reports to the Director of Administration.

Required profile

• First degree in Psychology, Management or related field with safety and security training, or former security officer not below Chief Inspector rank.
• Maximum age 45 years.
• Knowledge of client relationship management, MOH security policies, KATH administrative procedures and health safety standards.
• Strong leadership, goal‑orientation, honesty, motivation and ability to work under pressure.
