Security Officer – Onsite (Kumasi)

About the role

The Security Officer will work full‑time on‑site at Ramseyer Co‑operative Credit Union in Kumasi, ensuring a safe environment for staff, members, visitors and assets. The role combines physical security duties with basic information‑security awareness to protect both people and data.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor entry and exit points, verify identification and enforce access‑control procedures.
• Conduct regular patrols of the premises and observe/report any suspicious behaviour.
• Respond promptly to security incidents or emergencies in line with established protocols.
• Document security events, complete incident reports and maintain accurate logs.
• Collaborate with management and external security agencies when required.
• Safeguard sensitive information, equipment and support secure cash‑movement processes.
• Provide courteous assistance and directions to members and visitors while upholding professional standards.

Required profile

• Strong physical‑security skills, including access control, patrol and incident response.
• Foundational understanding of cybersecurity, network and information‑security principles.
• Effective verbal and written communication, with the ability to stay calm under pressure.
• Prior experience in security, law enforcement, military or related protective services is highly beneficial.
• Good physical fitness, alertness and willingness to work shifts, weekends and holidays.
• Basic computer literacy for incident reporting and use of security systems.
• Relevant security training, certification or licensing.
