Senior Assistant Development Officer

About the role

The University seeks a dynamic, self‑motivated professional to join its Works and Physical Development Office as a Senior Assistant Development Officer. This senior role supports the Director of Works and Physical Development in managing the university’s construction, civil engineering and architectural projects.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the Director of Works and Physical Development in overall administration of the Works and Physical Development Office as mandated by the Technical Universities Act 2016 (Act 922).
• Support planning, coordination and monitoring of construction, civil engineering and architectural projects across the campus.
• Prepare, review and maintain technical reports, budgets, and documentation related to development activities.
• Ensure compliance with statutory regulations, university policies and quality standards.

Required profile

• Research Master’s degree in Quantity Surveying, Architecture or Civil Engineering with a relevant professional qualification.
• Minimum six (6) years of experience as an Assistant Development Officer or in a comparable senior role within a university or similar institution.
• Demonstrated sound judgement, initiative, resourcefulness and professionalism.
• Ability to submit scholarly papers and publications for evaluation by external assessors.
