Senior Backend Engineer – Mobility (12‑Month Fixed‑Term)

About the role

M‑KOPA is looking for a Senior Backend Engineer to design and deliver event‑driven microservices that power its fast‑growing e‑mobility financing platform across Africa. The role is initially a 12‑month fixed‑term contract with the possibility of extension or permanent employment.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain high‑performance C#/.NET microservices using an event‑driven architecture.
• Implement messaging solutions with Azure Service Bus, Kafka or RabbitMQ and ensure reliable data flow.
• Containerise applications with Docker and orchestrate them on Kubernetes.
• Set up observability pipelines using Prometheus and Grafana, and drive automated testing and continuous delivery.

Required profile

• Strong experience in C#/.NET development and microservice design.
• Hands‑on expertise with cloud platforms (Azure preferred, AWS or GCP acceptable).
• Proven ability to work in a DevOps culture, embracing infrastructure‑as‑code and automated testing.
• Comfortable collaborating remotely across UTC‑1 to UTC +3 time zones.
