Senior Electrician

About the role

The Senior Electrician will lead the maintenance of electrical systems, machinery and production equipment in a manufacturing environment, ensuring safe and efficient operations. This role combines hands‑on troubleshooting with continuous improvement initiatives to minimise downtime and support plant reliability.

Key responsibilities

• Install, troubleshoot, repair and maintain electrical equipment, including motors, control panels, PLC systems, VFDs, sensors and other automation components.
• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on power distribution, generators, compressors, pumps and utility systems.
• Diagnose electrical faults quickly to reduce equipment breakdowns and production loss.
• Conduct routine inspections and support equipment installation, commissioning, modification and improvement projects.
• Read and interpret electrical drawings, schematics and technical manuals.
• Ensure compliance with electrical safety regulations, company policies and occupational health and safety standards.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records, reports and documentation.
• Coordinate with production, quality and engineering teams to resolve equipment issues and improve reliability.
• Assist in spare‑parts inventory management and recommend procurement of electrical components.
• Provide technical guidance and training to junior electricians and maintenance technicians.
• Support TPM, 5S and other continuous‑improvement initiatives within the plant.

Required profile

• Diploma, HND or Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics or a related field.
• Valid Electrical Technician licence or relevant certification (preferred).
• Minimum 5 years of electrical maintenance experience in a manufacturing setting.
• Experience with automated production lines and industrial electrical systems.
• Background in food & beverage, FMCG, automotive, steel, cement, pharmaceutical or chemical industries is an advantage.
