Senior Forester

About the role

Rainforest Builder is seeking an experienced Senior Forester to lead forest management operations across large‑scale restoration projects in Ghana’s Upper Guinean Forest. The role combines technical forestry expertise with leadership to ensure sustainable practices and meet the company’s ambitious restoration targets.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement comprehensive forest management plans aligned with sustainability goals.
• Conduct forest inventories, assessments, and growth modelling.
• Monitor forest health, pest management, and disease control programs.
• Ensure compliance with local and state forestry regulations and prepare required reports.
• Supervise and mentor junior foresters, technicians, and field crews.
• Coordinate with contractors, loggers, and external stakeholders.
• Deliver training on safety, equipment use, and operational procedures.
• Prepare and manage departmental budgets and resources.

Required profile

• Minimum 7 years (84 months) of professional forestry experience.
• Proven leadership and team‑management abilities.
• Strong knowledge of forest conservation, soil and water protection, and regulatory compliance.
• Experience working on large‑scale, long‑term restoration projects.
