Field Agent – Child Labour Monitoring & Remediation (CLMRS)

About the role

CLMRS Field Agents are the primary point of contact for households involved in the Child Labour Monitoring and Remediation System. They build trusted relationships with farming families, raise awareness about child labour and child rights, and support the transition of children out of labour through regular visits and guidance.

Key responsibilities

• Explain the CLMRS programme, raise awareness on child labour and child rights, and provide behaviour‑change guidance to households.
• Visit households and farms, interview adults and children (aged 5‑17) in a child‑sensitive manner to identify children in labour or at risk.
• Recommend and help deliver appropriate support services, monitor remediation actions, and follow up with households every 3‑6 months.
• Collect accurate community‑level data, use standard mobile apps to register visits, and facilitate visits from International Cocoa Initiative staff and partners.
• Maintain equipment and materials, and ensure they remain in good condition.

Required profile

• Post‑secondary qualification (e.g., Higher National Diploma) and knowledge of life in cocoa‑growing communities.
• Experience in child‑labour prevention, child protection, social work, community development or related fields.
• Strong relationship‑building, empathetic communication, and ability to work under pressure.
• Willingness to travel frequently to assigned communities, including by motorcycle.
• Respected within the community, neutral, and of good moral character.

• Use tablet or smartphone for mobile data collection.
• Operate standard mobile applications for visit registration and monitoring.
