Senior Internal Auditor

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Internal Auditor to lead the full audit cycle, ensure financial reliability, and support compliance across the organization. You will work closely with the audit committee and senior management to drive risk‑based audit practices and continuous improvement.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate the audit cycle, covering risk management, control effectiveness, and regulatory compliance.
• Lead a team to align audit scope with performance drivers and communicate findings to the audit committee.
• Review internal audit and regulatory reports, monitor implementation of recommendations, and provide feedback for publication.
• Identify fraud risks, recommend controls, and approve investigations into suspected fraudulent activities.
• Supervise the design of control frameworks for business processes and IT systems.
• Analyze financial results against historical trends and plans to achieve audit objectives.
• Develop and update compliance programmes in line with changing legislation.
• Participate in critical business and IT initiatives to ensure proactive control design.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting, Economics, or a related field.
• Professional accounting certification (ACA, ACCA, CIA, CISA) is mandatory.
• At least 10 years of internal audit experience in financial services, with 4+ years in a leadership role.
• Strong understanding of financial‑services regulations, corporate governance, and audit methodologies.

Required skills

• Proficiency with ERP and other accounting packages.
• Experience in fraud detection techniques and risk‑related technology planning.
