Senior Production Operator

About the role

The Senior Production Operator will ensure the effective functioning of all processing equipment at Iduapriem Gold Mine to achieve optimum production recovery. This full‑time, onsite position supports the mine’s target of 250‑270koz of gold per year.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct pre‑start equipment checks each shift and report any defects to the supervisor.
• Perform timely steel‑ball charging into mills to improve throughput.
• Support housekeeping tasks such as cleaning used liners, removing scraps, and emptying dustbins in the CIL plant.
• Operate and control thickeners and coordinate the flocculant mixing plant with control‑room operators.
• Maintain flocculant powder availability and keep mixing hoppers filled for continuous operation.
• Apply safe work and environmental procedures, and report accidents, incidents, and near‑misses.

Required profile

• HND, GCE O/A level, SSCE, or equivalent technical qualification (Mechanical Engineering Technician II, Electrical & Electronic Technician II, NVTI, City & Guilds, etc.).
• Valid driver’s licence.
• 1‑3 years experience in a gold processing plant.
• Strong attention to detail, reliability, and commitment to safety.
• Ability to work under direction and collaborate with diverse cultures.

Required skills

• In‑depth knowledge of processing plant operations.
• Operating thickeners and flocculant mixing equipment.
• Proficiency in driving a light vehicle.
