Senior Ventilation Engineer

About the role
AngloGold Ashanti (Ghana) Limited is redeveloping the Obuasi Gold Mine into a modern, fully mechanised underground operation. We are looking for an experienced, self‑motivated Senior Ventilation Engineer to lead ventilation planning, monitoring and compliance across the mine.
Key responsibilities
- Plan, design and manage the mine ventilation network, including secondary fans, regulators, stoppings and sealings.
- Conduct monthly ventilation surveys and produce accurate ventilation work instructions for blasting, construction and development activities.
- Supervise ventilation construction, fan installation and maintenance to ensure a safe, healthy work environment.
- Provide technical advice on ventilation deviations, recommend corrective actions and communicate short‑ and medium‑term plans to mining teams.
- Prepare and submit statutory ventilation reports and maintain the ventilation logbook for regulatory compliance.
Required profile
- Bachelor’s degree in mining engineering or a related discipline.
- Minimum 3 years of underground ventilation engineering experience.
- Valid Blasting Certificate and Mine Rescue Certificate.
- Strong understanding of Ghana Mining Regulations and occupational health standards.
Required skills
- Proficiency with Ventsim software.
- Proficiency with VUMA software.
- Experience using mine planning tools such as Studio5D Planner or Surpac.
- Competence in AutoCAD for drafting ventilation layouts.
