Shift Supervisor – Plant Operations

About the role

The Shift Supervisor is responsible for overseeing plant operations and personnel during a production shift. The role ensures that quality products are produced efficiently, safely, and cost‑effectively by managing people, machinery, and materials.

Key responsibilities

• Interpret production schedules and work to achieve daily targets.
• Deploy and assign shift personnel, ensuring all workers are present and productive.
• Coordinate shift changeovers to avoid line stoppage.
• Maintain safe working conditions and enforce health‑safety standards.
• Uphold GMP, housekeeping, food safety, and quality standards throughout the shift.
• Conduct visual line checks and confirm production stock at shift close.
• Monitor equipment performance, record process data, and report variances.
• Provide technical advice and coaching to subordinates.
• Liaise with Maintenance to report faults and schedule repairs.
• Identify improvement opportunities and propose projects to enhance safety, quality, and efficiency.
• Participate in GMP audits and help maintain quality system documentation.

Required profile

• Experience supervising plant operations in a manufacturing environment.
• Familiarity with GMP, food safety, and HACCP standards.
• Ability to coordinate with Maintenance, Quality Assurance, and Logistics teams.
• Strong attention to detail and problem‑solving skills.
