Supply Chain Manager

About the role

The client, a multinational commodity trading firm, is expanding its operations in Ghana and seeks a Supply Chain Manager to lead the end‑to‑end logistics of agricultural commodities from vessel discharge at the Port of Tema to delivery for industrial clients.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and supervise vessel discharge operations for bulk and bagged soy, wheat and wheat bran at the Port of Tema.
• Coordinate with GPHA, shipping agents, consignees and freight forwarders to ensure smooth port calls and compliance with customs and phytosanitary requirements.
• Manage warehouse and inventory operations, including FIFO rotation, stock counts, loss control and traceability of commodity batches.
• Organise and optimise road transport to clients across Ghana and the sub‑region, negotiating rates and rationalising routes.
• Collaborate with Finance and Commercial teams on flow planning, invoicing and KPI reporting (cost per tonne, demurrage, service levels).
• Lead and develop local field teams, producing regular operational reports for headquarters.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Transport or Industrial Engineering.
• 5‑8 years of experience in bulk agricultural commodity logistics, with proven work at a Ghanaian port (preferably Tema).
• In‑depth knowledge of Ghanaian port operations, GRA customs procedures, phytosanitary regulations and Incoterms.
