Logistics Network & Operations Manager

About the role

The Logistics Network & Operations Manager oversees the Sorting Center, Reverse Logistics, and Freight Transport operations within Jumia’s supply chain. Reporting to the Head of Logistics, the role manages stock movements, optimizes outbound transport costs, tracks parcel backlogs, and leads warehouse and dispatch teams to ensure efficient parcel delivery and SLA compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise daily operations across Sorting Center, Reverse Logistics, and Transport hubs, ensuring FIFO processes and timely deliveries.
• Track parcel backlogs, monitor hub quality standards, and coordinate delivery capacity with dispatch agents and 3PL partners.
• Optimize outbound parcel flows and freight routes to reduce transport cost per package.
• Lead, train, and manage Sorting Center and Transportation Managers and floor teams, handling administrative duties and site security.
• Implement continuous‑improvement projects, roll out scalable warehouse processes, and build dashboards to monitor logistics KPIs.
• Conduct field visits, travel regionally to logistics hubs, and collaborate with internal departments and external transport partners.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Operations, Industrial Engineering or related field.
• Minimum 5 years of progressive experience in physical logistics, e‑commerce fulfillment, manufacturing, production or distribution.
• Proven ability to manage large warehouse/fleet teams, strong project‑management skills and effective leadership.
• Highly structured, methodical and results‑oriented mindset with flexibility to adapt to changing operational needs.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Excel and Google Sheets.
• Familiarity with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS).
• Familiarity with Transport Management Systems (TMS).
