Transport Officer

About the role

The Transport Officer will oversee the day‑to‑day operations of both company‑owned trucks and third‑party (3P) vehicles, ensuring safe and efficient load handling across the Accra‑Tema corridor. Reporting to the logistics team, the role serves as the primary point of contact for 3P partners and drivers, driving performance and compliance with company standards.

Key responsibilities

• Manage daily operations of drivers during load activities, including check‑ins, ride‑alongs and on‑site supervision.
• Coordinate load planning and execution for assigned trucks and 3P vehicles.
• Monitor truck movements, safety compliance, and adherence to SOPs.
• Maintain communication with 3P partners, track performance and resolve issues.
• Support recruitment, onboarding and training of 3P transport partners and drivers.
• Identify reliable 3P providers that meet operational standards.
• Conduct performance reviews, monitor KPIs and provide coaching to drivers.
• Prepare regular operational reports and dashboards.
• Keep accurate records of all assigned trucks and related documentation.

Required profile

• Four‑year degree in Logistics or Supply Chain Management from an accredited university.
• Proven experience in transport operations or logistics management within the Ghana transport sector.
• Strong knowledge of Ghanaian transport regulations and industry practices.
