Truck Mechanic – Heavy Equipment Maintenance

About the role

We are seeking a skilled Truck Mechanic to perform preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on a range of heavy‑duty equipment, trucks, and machinery. The successful candidate will ensure equipment reliability and minimize downtime across our operations.

Key responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on engines, transmissions, hydraulic, braking, and electrical systems.
• Conduct routine inspections to identify defects and potential failures.
• Service and maintain excavators, loaders, dump trucks, forklifts, cranes, and other heavy machinery according to manufacturer specifications.
• Replace damaged or worn parts and verify correct installation.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records, service reports, and equipment history.
• Respond quickly to breakdowns to reduce operational downtime.
• Ensure compliance with workplace health, safety, and environmental requirements.
• Collaborate with operators, supervisors, and engineering teams to improve equipment reliability.

Required profile

• Proven experience as a Heavy Duty Mechanic or Heavy Equipment Technician.
• Strong knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulics, mechanical systems, and electrical troubleshooting.
• Ability to read technical manuals, drawings, and service documents.
• Experience with mining, construction, logistics, or manufacturing equipment is preferred.
• Problem‑solving mindset with attention to detail.
• Capability to work independently and under pressure.
